I don't know anything about whether there was a model like that.  My question is if a gun is said to be used, how has it not been fired?

a "used" gun is one that  had a former owner whether actually fired or not.  Lots of people have new guns they never fired.

If it's never been fired by the original owner (most guns are fired at the factory) , and is in new condition, I call it "as new", not used.  Because it hasn't been used.  All of the gun guys and dealers (locally and on the net) I know do the same thing.

yeah, i thought it was funny.  it is in the used section, so maybe it doesn't come with a box/papers?
seems like a higher end price, so i wondered if it was custom.  i have only seen stainless versions myself.
just hoping to get some info to go in there again with.

You might ask in the Marlin lever action forum, someone in there would probably know if it's factory.  If not there, use the forum on Marlin's website to ask about it.

Marlin has not had a talk forum on their web site for several years.  ;D If the gun is ported it is a 1894P. Yes that is a factory model only made one year. The price is on the high side but there are not many around. Regards, Byron

That would figure.  I probably haven't been on Marlin's website in that long too!   ;)

You didn't mention if the barrel was ported or not. I have a 1894P and wouldn't sell it at any price. Price seems a bit high, but if it's really in "as new" condition, it's probably fair. If you're a 44 mag fan, I would say grab it. Mine is a real shooter.

Might be a Marauder- 16.25" barrel, mfg 1964&65 only, IIRC
