Savage model 99 rifle
« on: May 04, 2003, 06:07:10 AM »
Hi:

I have a question about the savage model 99 lever action rifle: When was the last year that Savage made that rifle? Anyone know if they plan on bringing the model 99 back into production?

                                                                          Thanks,

The last model was the 99C in these calibers 308Win,243Win,284Win,7MM/08,22/250.The 308Win and 243Win were the last ones made.I know they were made until 1985,without a doubt, maybe until early 1990s.Enforcer

I believe in this age and times that until or IF....Savage Arms ever changes ownership, we will never see another Savage 99 produced.  Just too costly a design, and Savage wants to produce inexpensive, but decent rifles that are designed for the hunter and shooter, not necessarily the collector.  Just my humble opinion.
