Please pray for my girlfriend
« on: January 25, 2007, 06:34:03 PM »
My girlfriend, (well, she's more of a friend than anything), was horribly abused as a child. She was brought up by her mother and older sisters, they all converted to Jehovah's Witnesses (insert joke here), I believe they all derived great comfort from being associated with this church, I know how lots of people don't like them because they beat on your door and spread their gospel. I didn't know much about them before I met her, they have really strict views on nationalism, self defence(from what I understand it's not allowed), strict prohibitions against drug and alcohol abuse, and their form of excommunication is called: "disfellowshipping". Well, my girlfriend drinks quite heavily to try and deal with the general pain of having been abused; so some years ago she was disfellowshipped. I have no idea what she goes through inside, but I would imagine she's a pretty shattered individual inside. I wish there was something I could do. She goes through friends like old dishrags, which I don't understand. Recently she had a spell, I don't know if she attempted suicide but she often talked about it when she called me up, which was almost always when she was drinking heavily. She was drinking since about the new year up to this past Monday AM when she went missing for several awful days. Her current man eventually managed to locate her at the short stay unit(thank God!). She does not want to speak to anyone who knows her. It's awful. I don't know what to do. I wish there was something I could do for her. Darn molesters, they don't realize and/or don't care what a burden they put on society when they abuse little kids; or that they have made a severely crippled invalid for the rest of the child's life. Have a good day. Regards.
