Adding an ammo box to gun cart
« on: May 05, 2003, 12:29:13 PM »
I'm building an ammo box to ride on the handle of my gun cart.  Finished with the building part and am just now getting to the stain and finish.  I have two 3/4 x 6" boards that run from the vertical part of the cart back to the handle.  The box rides on them.  It has a lid and a recessed area for my loading block.  Keeps all the ammo up high so I don't have to keep bending over (bad back and all.)
Pictures in a few days when it's finished.
The added weight back there helps balance the cart better; not as much effort is needed to tip it back.

Actually, if I can give someone an idea about how to do something then that's great (and also the Cowboy Way.)
All I really want is all 10 fingers when I'm done.
Years ago I was able to run 3 fingers on each hang through a 10 inch table saw--just got the tips but Mrs. was not pleased.  Really did change my fingerprints, though.

Heyya CR

Did ya slice those six fingers all at the same time, or was one slice six times over a period of time?  If'n it was over a period of time I'm thinking you must have enjoyed it a bit...jest wonderin.

Course you could patent a new stain with that technique.
"Blood Wood Gun Carts....a little bit of us goes into every one we make."

My personal trick is to injure myself while welding.  More than once I have been in too big a hurry to examine my weld, picked up that smokin hot piece of metal, only to set it down real quick like.  One time, after lettin it drop onto the welding table with a big crash/clang noise my partner said to me, " Huh?  Did ya burn your hand.?

I told him, "No, it jest don't take me long to look at a piece of metal."
