Trigger work - Savage 99 in .358 Win
« on: January 29, 2007, 01:28:11 PM »
Just picked up a Savage 99F in .358 Win (95%) at a gun show this weekend.

Heavy trigger - what do I do to lighten it?

Since this one's in such good shape I'll practice on my 99A in .308Win first.

Sell the gun to me and forget about tweaking the trigger.  Cant be fixed, too hard to do, will void warranty, you won't like it when you are done.. ;D

I looked for 15 years before I found this one.  Passed on a few in worn shape for $900 and got this one in 95% for $575.

Sell it?  Not today, but thanks for the offer.

And the answer to my own question is, from much searching on the net, the trigger is not adjustable, but sear surfaces can be polished.
