Pedersoli's 1859 Sharps....

In it's military (Infantry) guise, has anyone ever hunted with one? This is my DREAM BP rifle to own someday.

The breech loading perc sharps is an intriguing weapon, for sure.  Check you state laws though.  Here in the unenlightened Keystone State, because of poorly written game regs and laws, only centerfire, rim fire guns 22 and under and muzzleloaders are legal for most hunting.  Due to a fluke in the law, breech loading, non-center/non-rimfire guns are only legal for Coyotes and groundhogs.    You see they don't load from the muzzle, hence, they are not "muzzleloaders".   Same for the Ferguson breech loading flintlock, Hall carbines, Jenks monkey tails, Burnsides, Smiths  and other transition breech loading percussion arms.   Same for cap and ball reolvers.

Hopefully your state is a whole bunch wiser than the legislature and game commissioner's here.

I haven't hunted with one, looked at getting one several times, but still sticking with my rolling block for BPCR matches at the moment.

Here is a good article I found that you might not have seen on the 1859.
