Matthews "The Paper Jacket"
« on: January 30, 2007, 06:18:35 AM »
I have tried to find this book at all sources I can find, with no luck.  Any one know where I can buy a copy?

Thanks

Stu

I got to see the books by Mr. Matthews thru inter-library loan. I do want to get my own copies, so I'll be interested in a response to this question myself.

Yup, I just went looking as well but no luck either. I'll take a look at our library tomorrow and if they have it, I'll ask where they bought it and let you know.

I have both "The Paper Jacket" and "40 Years with the 45-70".  I got the 45-70 book from MidwayUSA and "The Paper Jacket" directly from Wolfe publishing (these are the same guys that put out Rifle and Handloader magazines)  Good luck getting your hands on it.

I got my copy of it from MidwayUSA, but looking on there I don't see it listed as being in stock. You might want to give them a call. Or worse comes to worse there is always ebay.

I looked all over Midway's pages as well and it just isn't there. However I did find some info in Lyman's Third Edition Cast Bullet Handbook. I'll just read that over until I can find the other book.

I also have both "The Paper Jacket" and "40 Years with the 45-70".
I went to our local book store and asked them to order them for me. A couple of weeks later I got the call that they were in.

Most handloader magazines have a books for sale section with all of his books offered.  They may even have it at their web site.  I think I will take a look.  JB

There are two ISBN's because there are two versions of the book, one is revised the other is first edition. Get the revised version if you can.
