Any user reportsonthe new NEF 45 long colt carbine?Especially using heavy bullet loads normally listed for either the rugers or contenders. Also could it be safely reamed out for either the 454 or 460 s&w?

They aren't in production yet, won't be available until the end of next month by H&R's guesstimate, accessory barrels to follow later this year.

I don't think it will last long as a 460 S&W maybe not even the 454 lots of presure there. But the 500 S&W is right up there also. If it dose work let me know also I would like a 460 in a Handi.

One member is having a .308 Winchester barrel rebored and rechambered to Casull as we type, so at least  Wayne York thinks it will work fine at 50kcup, or he wouldn't do it, but the .460 runs 5kpsi higher than the .500 at 65kpsi, so it may be too much, no one here has done either yet.

No offense, but "hot 45 Colt loads" is somewhat of an oxymoron!! With a SAAMI MAP of just 25kcup, it's not a concern on an SB2 frame that's factory available in .500S&W with a SAAMI MAP of 60kpsi. ;)

Wonder if 260 grain @ 1200 fps (from revolver) load is pushing it?  GA Arms has a new HP at this level listed, at reasonable prices.

You should be able to load this thing with the hottest Ruger loads  I kinda doubt you,ll ever hurt a handie with .45 colt loads unless your being stupid to begin with. All sane loads should be safe in the handie. 8)
