Why .45LC and not .454 Casull

Seems like I might have asked this question before but I can't remember. 

H&R Makes the Survivor in 45LC and 410.  Why not 454, that would be a more practical chambering to me.  That way you would have a cartridge capable of taking big game if neccessary, still be able to shoot 45LCs and have the .410.

With those chamberings it would make a good gun to take in the plane when flying.  It would be large enough for protection against bears, or to kill something (Moose or Caribou) if need be.  And have the .410 to shoot Grouse and Ptarmagin. 

I currently fly with two pistols, a 454 Raging Bull, and my Contender in .45LC/.410.  A survivor would fit in the nose cone then I would not have two huge things hanging on my waist.  In the winter when I have to put on extra clothing the seat gets real tight.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I've wondered about handloading some 410 slugs that were optimized for that chamber.  Will a 454 case fit in the 45/410 chamber?

Don't even consider shooting .454 Casull in a .45/410 Survivor, the SB1 shotgun frame isn''t meant for that kind of pressure! :o

Thanks for warning, what's your thoughts with the barrel mounted on the stronger frames?

I don't have one, but from previous discussion, they aren't real accurate unless scoped or sighted, they only have a shotgun bead up front and aren't drilled and tapped for a scope rail. :-\ There's a barrel on ebay right now, FWIW.
