Iron sights on BDL's

Could someone please explain to me why Remington still puts iron sights on calibers like .17 and other varnmit calibers, seems like they would be better off saving the time and effort to make the insides of the barrels better.

Good point.  Guess they figure you can always remove them but if you know you are going to scope a rifle, the BDL with iron sights does not seem the logical choice.  There are still some owners who use the see through mounts.
