I have an International in '06 and a Medium Sporter in .45-70. I love them and am always glad that Bill Ruger had such good taste. To get such a classic like that for that money is really a bargain. They are good shooters, reliable, and accurate. There is sometimes a little tweaking to be done with the forend, but no big deal. To me it's nice that us average folks can own an elegant rifle like this. I haven't warmed up to the stainless laminate versions yet, but I feel it happening some day - in a varmint caliber. I like shooting them, just working the action, everything about them. The only thing I have found is that I have had to use extension rings to get a little better range of eye relief for scope mounting. I am pretty average in size, but with #1's in particular I need a longer eye relief scope and still require extension rings to mount them more rearward. With Ruger's ring system, that is no big deal and maybe that is just a peculiarity with me and my scopes.
I would jump at that opprtunity. Every rifleman should own a #1!
