Preferences for buffers PSB, Pufflon, Super Sam others?
« on: February 05, 2007, 10:57:41 PM »
I know some of this has been covered before but I'm about to do some cast bullet load work in the 348 Win.

I've seen enough data that make me want to try buffers.

I have some loads provided by a friend that use PSB, and I have some of it to try.
PSB is spherical and relatively large.

I also have some Super Sam - anybody use it in cast loads?
What about  interchanging Super Sam for PSB?  Super Sam is fine, irregular ground material, less dense than PSB.

I got the Sam when I couldn't find any Grex or Super Grex.

I've seen ads for Pufflon but don't have any - is it worth a try?

Are there any other similar polymer fillers that are good to try?

I think I understand the concept that the buffer adds to the weight of the projectile so I need to compensate powder charges (down) to account for the greater weight.

Thanks
