Guys:

If you want different calibers considered..We can make a list here..or you can e-mail the c/s manager Mark here...Just put Graybeards in the subject line so he knows it isn't spam.. mark@bpiguns.com

Me...I want longer barrels for the standard calibers...If we are going with a single shot..a 26" barrel will give a velocity boost without having to increase powder..and to me..they balance better..

Some barrel choices for me would include..

1)26" 25-06

2)26" 260 or 6.5x55mm

3)26" 280

4)26"308 bull barrel

5)26" 6mm BR 1:8 twist bull barrel

6)26" 338 Mag bull barrel

Can they handle the magnum pressures? If they can I really like the 25 WSSM I would buy one. They can also add a 460 S&W, 222rem, 218 bee, and I didnt see 44 mag. with the right barrel specs.

The 300 Win mag is on their list of calibers already, no one chambers a barrel in any of the short mags for the TC Encore, so I doubt you'll see em in the CVA. Bullberry used to, but ceased production of them and bought back those they had sold.

Dang Mac, I could not have said it better, these 6 would be high on my list!!!!

A would like to add a few.
1. A 204 Ruger in a 26" Bull & please keep the 1-10 twist & you will have the best non-custom barrel avail. to shoot the 40 bullets.
2. 444 Marlin, only done the right way
3. 26" bull in 270, again a very marketable niche.
4. 35 Whelen with a quality chamber like your existing choices.

I don't see many gaps that can't be filled with these 10 choices. It would take a tremendous volume to offer things later on like the 35 Rem., until then you could load down the Whelen for example, 25-06 down to the Bob, etc. This is what I mean by taking care of the gaps for now.

Oh, & 7 mag. even thou I like the 280, the 7 is the number 1 selling magnum. Sorry, 11 choices I guess

Thanks for the feedback you posted Mac.
It's nice to see a company actually listen and interested in what the consumer wants.
Mark is welcome here any day.

So far I agree with everyones suggestions.
And the 26" offerings, are a wise choice in my opinion. More performance in a longer barrel, yet still shorter then a bolt action. And in a 270 and 30-06 is a great idea.

I will echo the 7mmMag, 35 Whelen, 460S&W and good bull barreled 6mm.
The varmint choices offered are very good, and the 204 would compliment them well.
A good Slug barrel for the shotgun fellas would be a nice addition too.

I sent a detailed e-mail to Mark & conveyed my wishes for new barrels & such. He gave me a quick response. It is good to see that CVA is interested in us & willing to listen to suggestions as well.

Uhh...no...While they may not appeal to you at first glance Andy...go pick one up...shoulder it..let it down...then close your eyes and shoulder it again...then look down it...I think you'll begin to like it just a little bit more then

...If you get to shoot one...then you'll begin to like it more...These rifles recoil mostly straight rearward..and the felt recoil is way less than any in the same caliber Handi you have ever shot..

That is the very reason muzzleloaders have become so popular in Indiana. We are shotgun only. Many are using muzzleloaders through out guns season.

That is the very reason muzzleloaders have become so popular in Indiana. We are shotgun only. Many are using muzzleloaders through out guns season.

I grew up in a shotgun only state...Illinois...and having a tack driving slug gun would be a nice option for those not wishing to use a muzzle loader...I can understand that...it is a lot of work for us lazy bums

Yup...the 25-06 and even the 257 Weatherby would be awesome as well...all 26" of course The Roberts & Savage wouldn't have to be that long but...in a single it wouldn't hurt either..

When do the next year lineups usually come out? I would have thought for the fall hunting seasons, but we're kinda close to that.

I've never really watched for the "new lineup" before... But I am (hopefully) close to selling my Tokarev and I'd like to get an Optima Elite set and I'd really like to have it in .243 Win with a longer bull bbl...

I would just like to add my 2 cents regarding Mark and CVA customer service. I emailed Mark when my gun was on order and he offered to send me some screws for the sight holes if it came in with sights (it didn't). He answered all my questions promptly and this seems like a very good customer service organization, very willing to help. Refreshing.

Does a person have to send the reciver in on this rifle to have a new barrel matched up to it or u just buy the barrel and put it on the reciver??

Just order a barrel from 1 of the suppliers,and stick that barrel on and go hunting. Maybe Quick will post some links to some of the suppliers. Digger
