Do your techniques change for hogs in the summer? Do you look for more water as opposed to food? I have heard that hunting baits is teh most productive at nights as opposed to days because of temp. What do you guys think?

when the temperatures begin to rise, and things in the woods dry out, a water source is a good location for finding hogs.  Since they don't perspire the way some other critters do, they need the water/mud to cool themselves.

Night time is a good time to find hogs at bait sights.

Great. My problem is, that i cannot hunt at night.

Also, do you like to hunt out of a portable stand or blind or what near the water where you have found sign? I am going to do some scouting soon and I want to know what kind of place to set up near the sign that I hopefully find.
Thanks

What  i  do  is  manipulate  the  hogs  when  it  is  hot  they  will  be  close  to  water  i  general  from  my experience  they  frequent  the  same  wallows  over  and  ovr   so  i  move  my  feeders closer  to  the  water  within  good  shooting  distance.  when  still hunting  i  carry  a  portable  blind   if  i  find  a  good  area  i  can  set  it  p  in  just  a  few  seconds.  I  am  leaning  more  towards hunting  out  of  tree  stands  here  lately    when  i  am  chasing  hogs  for  meet  rather  than  tropy hnting  as  my  stands  have  shooting  rests  on  them

great point about the baiting close to the wallows. I am going to have to try that one.
