Hi everyone, I've had this gun for over 20 years and have shot it a lot, but haven't done any shooting for several years. That's fixin to change! Blue 8" heavy (non-ribbed) with Pachmyr Presentation grip. Needless to say it is my favorite gun and the most accurate handgun I've ever shot. Sweetest trigger too. I just got the tool set and a new ejector rod, and while studying the cylinder-to-barrel spacing I noticed that the cylinder will move back when I push it by depressing a spring detent in the back of the frame. When setting the barrel, I assume it's set with the cylinder in it's relaxed position? I read that .006 is the max spacing, but the cylinder is not perfectly square in the frame so I thought .002 - .003 on the tightest cylinder would allow for expansion and keep the loosest cylinder within the .006 spec. I would appreciate input from someone who knows more about the guns than I do, all I've ever done is shot it and I want to dial it in before I start shooting it again.
