CK,
Check out Cumberland Gap NP. It's definitely one of my families favorites. Lots of trails and a great campground. The CG is actually in VA. but the park and trails are in KY, TN and VA.

If my memory serves me correctly, The cg is off of 58 soon after going south through the tunnel. I was there 3-4 weeks ago and had a great time, hiking was nice and wearher was sunny and in the 70's.

CK : We spend alot of time at Greers ferry Lake here in central Ar. and there are alot of the E. TN. people that spend yhere time as well (shelby co.) sends alot of their people over here there is a Dr. that keeps his boat at the same Marina we keep ours at that leaves Tn. on Fri. nights and stays until late Sun. to go back to Tn. come on over its one of the most beautiful lakes in the area.

cknight98 : Well if you do decide to come over it is a pretty good place and yes I knew you were in the eastern part of Tn. I have been there lots of times myself its Beautiful over there and especially the I-40 drive into N. C. The shelby Co. was Just a referance point of a lot of people who come to the lake here.

I live in Smyth County,Virginia near mount Rogers(12 miles away)and the Appalachain Trail runs through here,good hunting,trails,camping(some are even pretty good and remote!).Maps are avalible at ranger stations,highway shops,stores,etc..If you are in this area I invite you to call me and also to come around for a visit!Jeff,276-783-4310.
