All modern 44's and 45's, whether called super blackhawks, bisley's, vaqueros etc. are on the super blackhawk frame.  The only difference is the grip frames.  I do not like the dragoon (square back trigger guard) on any barrel length 44, the rounded trigger guard is much better, and the bisley grip the best yet.

I had a 5 1/2 Super Blackhawk and the cylinder was fluted and like you said the grip frame was different .
 I have a 7 1/2 BH and like the unfluted cylinder .
I was told when I called Ruger ( this was a few years ago ) that the 5 1/2
is on a New Model frame thats way  the flutes and the diffferent grip frame ......Is the 4 3/8 SBH fluted and what grip frame ?-

I have a stainless super blackhawk .44 mag with a 4-5/8 barrell That has the blackhawk grip frame. (rounded trigger guard). I was told that the shorter barrel model came with this frame ,not the super blackhawk frame. The cylinder is un-fluted.
