Baby Moose
« on: February 09, 2007, 07:37:54 PM »
What does a baby Moose sound like?  It's strange but in all the years I have been here, I have never heard a baby Moose making noise.  The sound I am looking for is one that a baby would make if it was seperated from it's mama.  The more panic stricken the better.  What got me to thinking about this last year I had poor success trying to call in bears and wolves using the fawn bleat on an electronic caller.  I did get wolves to come in, but not close.  Cayotes did come in and so did foxes, but not bears.  I don't think a Fawn Bleat is the right tone.  Since a moose calf is about the size of a Herford calf on stilts could they sound about the same?  I don't think they would sound anything like a Whitetail.

Also Caribou?  What does a baby Caribou sound like?

I threw this in here thinking maybe some of you preditor hunters have heard a baby Moose or Caribou.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
