My God!...from the mouth of arch-globalist Brzezinski--he warns of false flag operation to engage U.S. against Iran. Does this mean the CFR, etc. [along with arch GOP Congressman] has split and abandoned fastrack global Bush and cabinet? Of course, probably few in Congress are listening just like the American public.

Brzezinski among other things says: 'If the United States continues to be bogged down in a protracted bloody involvement in Iraq, the final destination on this downhill track is likely to be a head-on conflict with Iran and with much of the world of Islam at large. A plausible scenario for a military collision with Iran involves Iraqi failure to meet the benchmarks; followed by accusations of Iranian responsibility for the failure; then by some provocation in Iraq or a terrorist act in the U.S. blamed on Iran; culminating in a "defensive" U.S. military action against Iran that plunges a lonely America into a spreading and deepening quagmire eventually ranging across Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.'

Most of us stopped listening to Brzezinski in 1979 when he failed regarding Iran us as Carter's National Security Advisor. We all know how well that episode ended, and not until Reagan took office. Unfortunately, the "downhill track that will likely lead to a head-on conflict with Iran and with much of the world of Islam at large" is probably inevitable. Sooner or later we will have to deal with the radical Islamists, much as earlier Western Europeans had to in pre-Renaissance times. The Moors are back.

Actually, we can withdraw our forces, disengage from the Mid-east and just wait for the inevitable terrorist attacks on our embassies, etc. and ultimately attacks on our homeland. Then we can treat it all as a law enforcement issue--maybe fire off a couple of cruise missles, take out an aspirin factory--all the prudent things.

I thought there was universal recognition that war has been declared; not so much by us and other countries that have been attacked, but by the muslims. Note that I did not say muslim extremists.

a large portion of the american population has sadly lost all aspects of being patriotic.It hurts me a great deal seeing our people followin the footsteps of spokes people/advocates of peace,this means all the actors,singers high populararity types that are speaking against george w and the american military just to heighten thier popularity status,let me tell you that this is total BS(sorry).I believe it is totally crushing that certain groups of people are bashin our people over there trying to surpress the threat of another terrorist type of attack against us again.Yes war are nasty,yes people are going to get killed or wounded but If I was a soilder fighting for the red white and blue, I would be proud to due my duty and If it was my time to go I would not even ponder the fact of resenting any actions that I have taken to save my family/friends from harm being either on a large or small scale,I would go out like a true american,bullets flying,trying to take as many of them jackasses with me I could.I am one of the dwindeling number of people who love this country and if I have to defend this country we call home,believe me I would down to my dyin breath,because NO ONE is goin to harm the people I love beit family or friends,NO ONE!!

We need to learn from the experience of others who have had to deal with muslims. Take the case of Syria and how they dealt with a certain muslim sect that was causing trouble and were seeking some kind of independence, or something. The Syrian leader, dictator, or whatever he calls himself, warned the people of the town where the problem was coming from that they would be dealt with and if they didn't want to be a part of it, they had better leave. Those who chose to stay and fight, were simply annihilated along with the town that was razed to the ground. Over 25,000 were eliminated and so was the problem.

Iran has been directly and indirectly involved in global terrorism since they violated international law with the taking of the U S Embassy in 1979. That says they have been a MAJOR problem for 28 years. Its not only the War Party, (not MY phrase) or me, its also the Clinton, Bush #1, Reagan admins, and just about everybody else in the civilized world, that have recognized this.

Remember, it was Carter AND Brzezinski that did such a fine job with Iran. Great international work there eh.......At least Brzz can say he saw the light.

And the whole Muslim world saw that there were no consequences...Of course they,r not ready to declare outright war on the western worldyet,so they just finance and send out their little terror groups.
then they just shrug their shoulders and say "we know nothing" and go about their bussness.
and of course in our western legal system they get away with this...It,s what they,r counting on.

Excelent point Copilot!! No matter how much some want to declare that Iran "isnt the problem the the' War party' says it is" Iran IS a major part of the problem.

There is credible information about Hezbola cells already here in the U.S.. Hezbola has paid $2000.00-$5000.00 each for "Coyotes" to smuggle them in. This may be how Iran plans to retaliate if we strike thier Nuke programs.

I believe the "Global war on terror" will make AMERICA safe! Something wrong with that?? America being safe from TERRORISTS??

The problem with your thinking is. Unlike those of the past. The boys and girls over there today, have access to all the propaganda you or I have. They also have information most of us dont. Real deal everyday information of what is, and is not going on. No not from the news or the internet, while they sit at there key board, but from real life. If you think you are more informed on this mission then they are, your wrong. They can digest the propaganda and compare it to the real deal.

We send boxes of goodies to soldiers every month. The feedback we get is that they believe in the job they are doing and are deeply hurt hearing all the crappola spewed by the dumcraps. They don't understand why the media never covers or talks about all of the good they do. This so called dissent hurts their morale, makes them think that America doesn't care, at least the dumcraps. A Dallas morning radio show host named Jeff Bolton spent last week broadcasting from all over Iraq. Some Iraqi's were afraid to appear on camera and others were anxious to do so. Overwhelmingly theses people were very pro American. They wanted to thank our soldiers (us) and say life will be better post-Saddam. These reports, and those from another reporter Pamela Hess ( look her interviews up if you have not seen them - very good, insightful and obviously heartfelt) give a more accurate assessment of the situation. One can sense the honesty in these reports. The message is that the mission has changed. This morning Bolton recapped and reiterated what I had listened to last week. The soldiers there were proud of the job they had done and were upset at the media here. The main stream reporters are said to stay in the green zone and do not venture into country much. They were described as some of the most cynical and downright miserable people ever met. Right now it appears to me that Iraq is at a crossroads. I know that sounds like I state he bleeding obvious but it is important to keep that in mind. It is still entirely possible to effectively direct the outcome. Yes we have rebuilt infrastructure and schools and done other good works - we have also waged war on their soil. That would be hard for any American to swallow. They would all like us to leave as soon as it it safe for them. I imagine safe would be when none are afraid of the camera! The next months will really see if it was worth it or not. It will depend on if we make it worth it or not - don' you think ? The difference now is that many serviceman have been there for a long while. The Iraqi people are are no longer strangers to them. Our people are learning more of the language and nuances of their customs and it is becoming apparent that a friendships have developed . Whether or not our servicemen and women would feel betrayed if a timetable was mandated for their withdrawal I think is second to them in feeling they would be abandoning their new allies were the made to leave too soon.

A young Marine recently returned from Iraq said he didn't know we were loosing 'till he got home.

The most accurate reporting here and in Iraq is on the radio and the blogs. The troops get a lot of information. More than any other war. That's probably why the (not so) "Fairness Doctrine" is being brought up again.

60%+ of the Military enlisted AFTER the Iraq invasion. Its an ALL VOLUNTEER force. Oh shoot!! I forgot!! Its only made up of under educated, the poor, the tricked, and all that! I remember now, Kerry told us about that!!

When the point is repeatedly made to the constant harangue of negativity, ridicule and mockery is all that's left.

Wow, didn't the Iraqi's hang Hussein for just the same reason. Murder and crimes against humanity are reasons for execution. Of Anyone. Killing off a whole community for actions of some of its members is a crime against humanity. It happened in Czechoslovakia with Heydrich and it was and is still an atrocity. I'm not a pacifist, and wholeheartedly support our troops. I agree that terrorism of any kind is action that qualifies for execution. When extremists, whether religious, political, commercial, or militant, rampage to force their ideals on the rest of society, it is time for The World Governments to act decisively by not only denouncing the atrocity but actively seek out and eliminate this danger. No exception. The world is too small a place with today's technology that no one is safe anywhere when terrorism and its cowardly head appears. I call them cowards and spies since they refuse to be recognized by uniforms or manifesto. None in my opinion rate any protection from the Geneva Convention as combatants. The war is against religious hardliners. They will not quit. Their goal is to convert all infidels to the faith and subservient to its doctrine. This is a war but not against a political entity. Make no mistake that if we stop now, we will reap the 4 horse men's vengence for decades. If you don't believe it, just look at the disasters of the last 50 years and notice how the lack of respect for the American people as a Nation has increased. Let's not have another or we'll be tripping over each other to and from the cemetery on our own soil.

I try to get the correct concept across when I write but it obviously came across the wrong way. I was attempting to convey the need for all governments everywhere is the world to endorse war on terrorism. It is up to the more powerful nations to convince the others that under no circumstances will the rest of the world tolerate terrorism or any government that aids or protects such actions. It was not a reference to World Unity or globalism. It is my observation and reasoning conclusion that if this doesn't happen, then no government can survive and anarchy will prevail. This condition eventually must be resolved and mankinds solution to these has been world wars. If we can prevent that I think we'd be a lot better off.
