Wow, pretty sad. Did you personally know the guy? By the sounds of it, one heck of a great guy with lots of experience and love for the outdoors.

Father in law knew him fairly well.
Thought i would post a few of the bear attacks
that have happened in the state for some of the people
on this site would get a ideal of what its like to live
in bear country. They may benefit from some of the info
if they come up for a hunt or just to visit.

dabigmoose,

I agree with your idea.  PLEASE post all you can, it may just save someone from a bad encounter.  Check out the link below to see it also happens in other states.  Lawdog

Good news is I just shot the FA 454 with 360gr hard cast loads and they're dead on at 10yds in a sub 1" group....course my adrenalin's not up and I'm not practicing while I crap my pants

Dabigmoose,

I shot ammo-smith an e-mail on their web-site but never got a reply.  I ended up buying the 360gr hardcast Cor-Bon loads instead.  Super accurate and the recoil is "healthy" but manageable.

I did get out today and saw my very first brownie.  It was on the way to Hope.  He was quite a way off...so no pucker factor.  Even if he had been in season, I'm still a non-res.
