thumbhole stocks for hunter class?
« on: May 08, 2003, 02:22:26 AM »
Hi,
Do the broader rules for hunter class allow thumbhole stocks?  Any specific examples of stocks that have been approved or denied?
Thanks.

I dont think so,
never had seen a hunter stock with a tumbhole..
I am affraid that you might be facing many complains because of that , I myself would not push the rules and would get a normal type hunter stock.

have a good one

Paul is correct in thinking that you may get some grief over it but a "hunter" style thumbhole stock would be legal.  Browning makes one in the A-bolt hunting rifle and years ago Mossberg offered a 22 bolt action with a synthetic hunter style stock.  So technically it would be legal - however if you show up with one and start winning you may have to argue the point.
