can you use a 22lr cylinder or 22 mag cylinder in any rugar single six i have one i just have 22lr wondering if 22 mag would work.

it will work but if you get one i would have the timing inspected by ruger or a competent gunsmith to ensure that it functions properly

Would agree that it should work, but needs to be checked. Mine came with the .22 lr installed and the .22 mag is numbered to the gun so I suspect they are fitted or at least checked individually. Good shooting.

The above posts are correct - it's a crap shoot as to whether any given .22 Mag Single Six cylinder will fit and operate correctly. It's not difficult for a gunsmith to check the cylinder/gun combination and well worth the time.
