Anyone use ASAT Camo?
« on: February 14, 2007, 03:02:26 AM »
Hello everyone.
I've been deer hunting for years and have just recently got into predator hunting. I've always used whatever camo was on sale and then I came across a post somewhere about ASAT camo.

Being curious I checked out their website and liked the looks of this camo. I ordered a catalog and have been looking and reading it over for a few days.
It looks like it would be very effective, with it's open pattern, in breaking up your outline.
Being an old deer hunter I know that being still and hunting the wind is important too.

I'd like for someone who has this camo to chime in and give me your opinion on it.

Thanks

I do not use the ASAT Camo, but like yourself looked for the good Sale!.
I have done some of my best hunting in Brown coveralls but usually had a camo Mil-Surplus coat on also because of the cold.
Works very well providing you make sure to breakup your outline and remain still. I do consider a facemask & gloves to be a must.

I had a Coyote come by my doghouse type portable blind within 20yds on the late Deer season hunt here. It just could not see the camo patterned nylon. Even though this blind did blend in I thought it strange that I was not detected since the blind had only been in place since that morning!

Being still with a mask and gloves on does make a big difference. I do use both when predator hunting. Anything to help get them in.
Years ago I used camo makeup on my face and hands but now I use the mask and gloves. Not nearly as messy.

The ASAT camo sure looks like it will blend in well with any terrain. I'll know next week when it gets here.
