22 mag ammo

Have any of u shot PMC 22 mag ammo 40gr soft nose i was just wondering if they group good can get a 1000 rounds out of sports mans guide for 119 but thats a lott of ammo to have if it dont shot to good, i shoot CCI maxi mag they are 8.50 to 9 dollers a box and i figured that these PMC would be about 6 dollers a 50 not almost 10 bucks a 50 rounds

Why not buy a box & see how they work in your particular gun before springing for 1000..
My single six is picky about .22 mag ammo. Remington-yes, CCi-no.
I have shot pmc, but don't remember if it shot well in the single six.
In general pmc is decent ammo.

It shot pretty well in my Marlin.  Winchester Super Xs grouped a bit better but that is in my gun.  Yours may differ.  I have bought more PMCs however for when I want a sp vs hp.

Andy they have but i guess sportsmansguied have a buch of the PMC ammo u can go to www.sportsmansguide.com and check out all the 22 mag ammo they have and they have a bunch of if

OK and thanks, unfortunately I live in that socialist state, Massachusetts, we cannot legally buy ammo or reloading components through the mail. I just had to have a buddy in another nearby state order me a brick of .17 Aquila 20 grain ammo for my .17 Mach2's since most (large) companies will not ship ammo into the state. It's a real pain. I cannot even order 50 caliber round lead balls for my ML's through the mail, as if I am going to organize an overthrow of the state or rob a bank with a single shot muzzleloader. Unfortunately we lost our last great hope, our great Governor Mitt Romney, we now have some liberal left wing wuss Gov Duval Patrick in charge, we are spiraling down with no hope of pulling out, the extremeists, those freedom and gun hating liberals, are in charge, the inmates are truely in charge of the asylum now....<><.... :o :'( >:(

yes i got the pm and if i get the ammo i will have u inmind thanks Andy, and that would suck not being able to order any such think in the mail to do with firearms i hope our state dont come down to that

Do these soft nose have the knock down power as the hollow points do i dont keep pelts so the more it tears them up when the bullet hits the better i lke it  on yotes and bobcats and what every furry critter is in my sights

I prefer the soft nose jacketed in .22 Mags for coyotes to get a little more penetration instead of perhaps opening up to soon. We sometimes save the pelts, if it is a nice big one or pretty or unusual color, it's about $75 to get a coyote hide tanned for the wall of our camps, a bullet hole in or of the hide out does not bother me, I want them to drop....<><.... :)

That PMC ammo was the best for accuracy out of my AMT pistol. No ammo shipments here either (Alaska) so I'll have to find something else I guess.

The Winchester Super X 40gr. HP works perfect for coyotes and better than any other 22 Magnum round!

Does any one know much about these winchester Dynapoint 45gr ammo  i got 2 boxes of them at walmart last night just to have them for 7 dollers a box  the look some what like a hollow point never seen a hollow point so shallow thanks John

Both my Marlin 25M and NEF Sportster shoot the Dynapoints better than other brands I've tried, which included Winchester Supreme and Super X as well as CCI's.

I had read sometime last year that they were discontinued by Winchester.  None of my local Wal Marts have had any for quite some time.  Occasionally, I come across some at a local shop. 

Last Spring the Sportster claimed a Ground Hog from about 60 yards using the Dynapoints.  The animal dropped immediately with a shot to the head.

Another thing I liked about them was that they were the least expensive .22 Mag ammo in my area.

I believe all Winchester rimfire ammo has been temporarily halted, none of the distributors I deal with have any. As to the Dynapoint, they are a very strange all lead bullet, no jacket, just a copper wash which you can scratch off with a finger nail. The bullet is larger outside the case with a reduced shank seated inside, sorta like a .22 LR but with a much longer shank back inside the case. Dynapoint was the only ammo that would not cycle my AMT pistol and it gave off a very pronounced puff of smoke with each shot. Velocity was only a bit over 1100 fps from the 6" autoloader, where as Winchester 40 gr. JHPs went well over 1400. As a reduced velocity load for small game it may be an OK idea but not enough power to cycle an auto and not very good accuracy from the upper barrel of my Savage M-24. If they don't resume production of the Dynapoint I'd not be heart broken.

If I remember right the PMC Predator ammo was a bit slower than a lot of the competition. I shot it and my Henry liked it. That stuff at the local gun shop sold for just over 6 bucks a box so Sportsmans guide is not that great of a deal. In fact all their ammo specials I think are so so nothing that would make me say man I got to get that its a great deal.

has anyone here had any experience with "ARMSCOR Precision" .22 Mag ammo? I picked up 5 boxes of 40 grain jacketed SP's for $5 a box and was wondering how they might shoot....<><.... ???

+1 for the Super X 40 gr jhp 22 Mag! These rounds are the most accurate in my Marlin 983S and my Henry Goldenboy 22 Mag.
That 22 Mag round rocks!  ;D 1 shot in the "boiler room" of a coyote up to 125 yards and that "dog" would be dead as a
door knob in short order! I love that 22Mag! ;D
