Ruger cleans up barrel warning!
« on: February 15, 2007, 04:19:31 AM »
I went to Jay's yesterday and look over the handgun cases again.  They have a good stock of 'New' Vaqueros right now so I stopped and looked.  Something did not look right, so I asked to handle one.  It was not until I turned it upside down that I realized what was different.  Ruger has rotated the warning to the bottom of the barrel on all the New Vaqueros!  The left side of the barrel is clean!  It's about time.  Now if this will just carry over to the rest of the Blackhawks and Supers, that would be wonderful.  Maybe they are realizing that half of those warnings get polished off to clean up the gun and if they want it to remain on the gun, they better put it in a less obtrusive place.  I miss old Bill, but I do have to say that Ruger has become much more progressive since his passing.  Hat's off to them.  I'll try for a picture soon.  44 Man.

Has been done already on the blackhawks.
Go down about 20 post to the Recieved a New Model Blackhawk thread and you can see where they put the Warning print in picture 2

From what I've seen of the new Ruger revolvers, I think "all" of the models have the warning on the bottom now.

I'm glad to know that.  I guess I spend too much time at the used gun counter and not enough looking at the new guns!  44 Man

Sadly, the Old Armys have not been changed, presumably because of the loading lever under the barrel.

My GP100, made in 2006, still has the warning on the left side of the barrel.
