I took my BC over to my Buddys house as he is a 45-70 govt shooter, and loads up to 535gr Cast for Cowboy shooting. We tried chambered all kinds of rounds in my BC and everything fit. From 405gr to 535gr with no problems I think I am one of the lucky ones that got a rifle I didn't have to rethroat it.
He advised me that I didn't reallly want to shoot 535gr bullets as they hurt on the rear end as bad as the front end. I have to get me a mercury weight in the stock to take out some recoil from this light rifle mine weighs 7lb 12on. The 535gr round we chambered was a monster, I probably won't load any of them as not to many elephants run around my neighborhood. But just in case he gave me one round on what not to load.
My buddy usually shoot Springfields and the COAL of the round he gave is: "2.825". What a round.
