Okay, so after getting my 336 CS back from the smith and $50.00 later for a polished something or other, I called Marlin. I explained the problem with the new hornady ammo jamming the action and was told that for $10.00 they will ship to me a newly shaped piece of plastic (follower) from the XLR models. I asked why, if this is a problem for the 35 Rem caliber rifles, it wasn't made known somewhere and was told that it is on the box of Hornady ammo that I might need to replace the follower. Hmmmmm?
I will check when I get home, but has anyone seen a warning on the box of pointed Hornady ammo that the follower might need to be upgraded before shooting their ammo? I do not recall having seen a warning like that.
I did notice on the Marlin sight a new lever gun in a new .308 caliber with pointed hornady rounds. They advertise it as a 400 yd gun. Hmmmm? I wonder if I can find a spot in my gun safe for one in stainless?
Wonder if it has the correct plastic follower?
?
