xr100 in 204?
« on: February 15, 2007, 07:15:03 PM »
Anybody loading 204's for this action and 26" heavy barrel?  Just got it and looking for a place to start on loads.

Also, anybody know the difference between the RCBS "A" and "B" die sets.  Both show the same product number.

Thanks.

It would help to know what bullet you are going to be loading or what you are going to be shooting and at what ranges. Do you have a velocity in mind? Do you shoot Barnes bullets or Speer? Do you have a prefered powder?

You really need to either get a few reloading manuals, (you can get free pamphlets from powder makers where you buy your powder) or locate and use the powder company's load data websites that are available to the public.

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.

Thanks Paul,

I have a few manuals and I load other rounds.  I was just wondering if anyone had any favorite in this particular rifle as a starting point.
