NEF Shotgun shell extraction
« on: February 16, 2007, 10:35:11 AM »
I'm not an NEF X-pert and I don't read much about these guns. I have one 12 guage shotgun that's been in my safe for a bunch of years, and I took it out recently.

My question is on the shell extraction. When you open the gun, the spring on the extractor is strong enough to launch a VW into the next county. Is there any way to calm down this extractor so that it just "presents" the shell for extraction via manually?

Thanks.

Dave

I think that is covered in the FAQ at the beginning of H&R Rifle Forum.

Here is a couple, also found in the NEF/H&R Center Fire Rifle FAQ's. There is another temporary method listed there that involves shimming a roll pin with some card stock, that can be reversed by removing. Here are a couple good permenant ones.

Davemuzz, thats an easy fix, not so the other way around, don't let it look difficult to you, just follow the directions and it is a simple operation...Good Luck....<><.... :)
