Nikor Scopes Quality?
« on: May 08, 2003, 12:20:18 PM »
Does anyone have any information, opinions, experience, or read reviews on these Australian scopes (made in Japan).  They are priced (overseas) comparatively to BSA's. :coffee:

For a moment there I thought that "Nikor" was a typo for "Nikon." :)

I have never heard about Niko"r" scopes.  All I can say is that, if they are priced about the same as BSA, and as BSA scopes are, in my opinion, junk, I would not be thrilled about the idea of buying Nikor scopes.

These Australian marketed scopes are actually 'Nikko-Stirling' scopes.  I suggest you do a Google search for the company Web site.  I checked out their web site some time ago.  As I recall they have scopes in two or three price-levels.  The higher priced line was advertised as being made in Japan  (or at least having Japanese lenses), while the origin of the lower priced lines was not stated - a good indication that they are probably made elsewhere in Asia.
