I don't own a Leupold yet. Their warrenty is tough to beat and their quality has always been high. Nice article in the last issue of my NRA magazine. I have all Nikons on my scoped rifles so far(3 Monarchs, a Buckmasters and Prosraff). I've never had a problem with any of my Nikons but I did have a Simmons that croaked on me after about 70 rounds through a 308. I was reading through some of the scope reviews on Midway and, while most people raved about their Leupold glass, several had less than satisfactory results on their high powered handguns. The general quaility of optics has improved, even on the lower ends, with better manufacturing techniques so maybe a person can get by with spending less these days. So to answer your question, I think I've narrowed it down to Nikon, Burris and Leupold, in that order. I haven't been in a store yet where I could compare them side by side (might get down to Cabellas this week). Thanks for the advice.
