What does Ruger mean by this term, when talking about the Blackhawk?

The rear sight is now protected by raised areas along both sides of the rear sight, starting on the old models and beyond. For a short time, the old model Blackhawk was fitted with the rear sight without these raised areas and as a result, it earned the name of Flat Top.
