I like my gp-100 just fine.  Has enough weight to tame most any load you want, and it's plenty strong for those loads too.

My GP-100 works great. I would recomend it to anyone, I use 180gr hard cast to hunt with. A black hawk is of the same quality thou, Do you want SA or DA? 8)

Not just for the Javelina but for future hunts.  A 44 Mag could also use the 44 specials and would be another good choice for them little Javelina.  Some of us just like bigger bore guns. But get what you want and use what you feel comfortable with.

I'm a single action man all the way for hunting, so I'd go with a 357 Blackhawk myself, but the GP-100 is also a strong, accurate, and utterly dependable revolver too.

I overlooked the javalina part. If it was a gun i was buying just to hunt javalina a 357 would be about ideal. If i wanted to step up to bigger game later id go with a 44 or minimum a 41mag.

  I'd say either a GP100 or a Blackhawk.  Whichever action (DA or SA) you prefer.  If you're to be using the hotter loads, I'd think they'd  hold up better over time than the 686 would.
  While a few have also mentioned using a .44, I'd opt for the .41 mag or maybe even the .357 maximum. 

  Another good idea would be a .357 Hunter from Ruger.  I can hope.

Such a broad questions deserves a broad answer. Any .357 you can hit with will do the job.
