He has used his "freedom of speach" which is being protected by our military using the real thing!  It is obvious that since he was hunting with a Remington Rep that someone got to his ear about the "evil black rifle"   I imagine his tune would have been different if he was shooting a quality AR.

This guy says that he sees no place in "our hunting fraternity" for "terrorist" assault rifles.  Time to kick this guy to the curb.  What a quisling.  We need to find out who this guy's sponsers are and register our displeasure.

VERY sad...Oh well, this seems like the breechloader's equivelent to the ( equally childish) inline vs. traditional muzzloader arguement.Unfortunately this one will result in a larger rift in the shooting community.What ever happened to never criticizing a man's truck, wife, gun or dog?

World has changed, more more bad people out there. Maybe He has seen or heard might have make him to speak out. I surely love AR but i dont use for hunting. This article dont affect me.

It is articles and thoughts like that that could very easily cost us or gun rights in this country like it already has in so many countries.  The attitude that I don't hunt with this kind of rifle or shotgun so if they ban them it won't affect me.  Well there is no functional difference between an AR, AK, Remington 7400, Browning BAR or a Remington 1100, you get the picture.  In addition if the gun grabbers are successful with the semi-autos next it will be the pumps and those deadly scoped bolt action sniper rifles.  It doesn't matter the action type, a gun is a gun is a gun.  All gunowners must stick together and not fight among ourselves over this.  In the past year I have hunted with an AR, a bolt action, a lever action, a single shot, a pump, a revolver and a muzzleloader it doesn't matter what you hunt with, it is the care with which you use your tool of choice.

Also, as far as these being the weapons of terrorists, if I remember correctly the terror attacks carried out on American soil in recent times have involved commercial aircraft and car/truck bombs and the weapons used by the terrorists in the hijackings were not ARs and AKs but box cutters.  It would seem that Mr. Zumbo has not spent a lot of time learning the history of these attacks.

Finally another thing that Zumbo seems to have missed out on is that everyday AR15/M16s are fighting the war on terror both on foreign soil and here in America.  While I have personal ARs that I hunt with there is an agency issued AR locked in the patrol vehicle sitting in my driveway as I type this and that rifle certainly isn't used to hunt groundhogs.

I find it unexcusable that a person who makes their living writing about firearms and hunting would make such a statement and hopefully the people that sign his paycheck will also find it as unexcuseable, just because he doesn't like a particular rifle/action type doesn't mean it should be banned.  My guess is that with all the problems Remington has had of late that they are a little jealous of the accuracy of the rifles that several of the companies that manufacture AR platform rifles are able to produce with boring regularity and that the companies are having a hard time producing enough to meet demand, I think it has been a while since Remington had that problem.

Check the link in this thread, Zumbo is apologizing and is very sorry, maybe he is just back peddling and does not mean it. He said he is going hunting with an AR and Ted Nugent to prove it.
