Check out this close call!

Believe it or not, this big guy ambled over to my treestand and laid down to rest for awhile during the deer season last November.  Before long, there were a total of three of these juvenile males under my tree.  He was close enough that I could actually smell him...ugh.  Talk about nervewracking!  I could hardly hold the camera still.  I'll submit pics of the whole group later. This is in Central Kentucky, of all places. I was hunting with a custom Ruger Blackhawk in 357DW caliber, which might have done the trick, but we have no legal season to hunt these creatures in Kentucky. I think that Tennessee, our neighbor to the south, has a huntable bear population.

Where are you at Major, I've seen one black bear here just north of Livingston. I glad they are coming back but don't want to have to confront one.

I'm in Madison County, Bob, and I was hunting along the river across from Fayette County, within sight of I-75 and the Clay's Ferry Bridge.  But still, what's all this talk about bears?  Re-read the post.  I never said I saw a bear.

I work in Madison, Over at the depot for L3, I think Madison co. has more skunks than anywhere else Ive beeen in my life, Some darn nice deer to shot my first ever over near Union City.

It looked like a decent size bear, what else is that suppose to mean? "LOOKS BIG" I thought the little picture was a bear because you started talking about bear in your post. I did not know it was a cow. I did not click on the picture to make it bigger. Not until I seen your second picture, did I know you were taking pictures of cow. My bad.

Read the story and take a quick look at the picture and you would think it was a black bear. Talk about the powder of suggestion. He did talk about bear in his post. And the heading of the topic "Check out this close call!"

I thought the same thing!  I had a close call with a mouse this season didn't get any pics though.

The only mention of a bear in the post was the last line, a simple statement of a unrelated fact..."I think that Tennessee, our neighbor to the south, has a huntable bear population."  Clever, don't you think?

Look closely at the enlarged pic and you can make out the white muzzle and a hoof.

It was meant to be just a joke, that's all, no harm intended.  You just happened to be the first guy up early enough to fall for it.  You'd be more likely to enjoy the humor if it hadn't been you.

Bob, it's a nice blanketed world outside up here as well.  It'll make a good afternoon coyote hunt.  They ought to come eagerly to the call.  I'll find out.

I live in GA and had a mother and two cubs walk right under my stand. They can climb trees about as fast as squirrels. We don't have a season for them and if you shoot one, you better have claw marks on you or they will put you under the jail.

I don't have a problem with humor. I just thought it was a bear from first glance as other did. I don't think I fell for anything. I just read your post first and then glanced at the pic.
I made a comment "Looks like a decent size bear" and you ask me "Geez, what's that supposed to mean, Redhawk 1?".

Now you think I am upset or something, I was just commenting on your post. Your mistake to think I was upset or anything like that. Nerve assume anything. I just didn't see any humor in your post and still don't.

At a closer look I could see it is a cow but at first I thought it was a bear also
