Heyya Ya'll

            Couldn't stand it anymore.  Had to go buy some more western movies today.  Bought Nevada Smith, The Wild Bunch, and The Magnificent Seven.

   Started watching the Mag 7 this afternoon.  Dang that is a good movie.  Steve McQueen is really good, and so is Yul B.  I am gonna enjoy this weekend watching these 3 movies.

   What other older westerns am I forgettin?  Seems there should be a Gary Cooper movie or two out there.  

   I guess a good deal of the enjoyment is rememberin the first time I saw many of these and other westerns it was with my Pa.  Sure miss that man.  Funny how memories work don't ya think?

They have a bunch of the Dukes old movies on DVD now. I rented a bunch of them and they were just as great as the first time I had seen them years and years ago.
Then there are the spaghetti westerns of Clint and the list goes on.
I really enjoy the old ones, but I like the new Tom Selleck ones too.  I suppose my favorite new one is Lonesome Dove. I really enjoyed that. I would like to watch the whole movie at one setting, but never have been able to so far.
I would much rather watch a western than this stuff they seem to crank out of hollywood these days. Right now only Tom Selleck have enough guts to back the movies he has made of Louis Lamours books.

I keep checking TNT's web site to see when Tom Selleck's Monte Walsh is going to be aired agian, but apparently they aren't going to put it on for a while.  I've only seen two copies of that movie on ebay, and they sold for $53.00 and $68.50.  It's a darn good movie and all, but I don't think that I liked it THAT much.  :eek:

             I recorded Monty Walsh on my tivo unit from my satellite system.  Watch it once a month whether I need to or not.  I also have Last stand at Saber River, and Crossfire Creek recorded the same way from that Tom Selleck weekend or night or whatever it was.

             Does anyone know if there is a reason why I couldn't record  VHS copies of those movies off'n the tivo unit thing?  They would not be for sale, and would be for my personal in home use....cuz the FBI will get cha for being a pirate.  I would jest permenantly loan 'em to selected folks.  

           Now I don't know about ya'll, but I am finding it is expensive enough jest tryin to be a cowboy shooter.  Can't imagine the cost to join and get set up fer PCCA, the Pirate Cutlass Cannon Association.  I hear them old boats is expensive too.  Besides, I wouldn't want to have to light my beard on fire.

          Course if'n a cowboy is already into that messy smelly smokey KAAAABBOOOOOM black stuff they wouldn't have to change powders to play pirate.  So there would be a savings there I guess.  Come to think of it, ya might even be able to have your cowboy hat reshaped into one a them big swoopy pirate kinda hats.  And, if ya already have mule earred boots ya might be able to use them for yer swash bucklin too.  (Dang, maybe it wouldn't be so expensive afterall)

          So mainspring, let me know if ya think I could record Monty Walsh from the Tivo to a VHS tape, and maybe you could be watchin that movie real soon, rewinding back to your favorite scenes and such playin em over an' over.

Pecos, I have to admit that I don't know a thing about tivo.  Heck, I'm happy if I can get the clock set on my VCR.  But it seems to me that if you have a video signal coming IN to your TV, from whatever source, that you can record that signal from your TV OUT to a VCR.  I'd think that it would just be a matter of figuring out the right combination of coax and IN & OUT jacks on the back of the TV.

If you can get that worked out, I may have to get with you later about borrowing those movies.

            Well I will give it a try early next week.  I'm on my way outta town for the weekend.  I will let you know the outcome.  If'n I caint do er, I will try and convince DB Leath to fly out here and hook the thang up... I know he won't refuse, cuz its the cowboy way....(heh heh heh that one gets him every time).

Man ur a mess  Cowboy Way huh....I dont think they had Tivo back in them days...I would have to shoot modern class then wouldnt I? :-D
I am fairly sure that you could record it to a VHS tape.  I figured you still had a BETA machine :)   As long as there is an input signal to the TV you should be able to.  It would really depend how  ya had your VCR hooked up.
