nope they might foul the barrel with lead or plastic but that would be easy to remove

I made shotshells for my 1917 S&W by cutting 30-06 brass to cylinder length, turning the case to get a little step to seat at, then loading with equal measures of shot and pistol Pyrodex (didn't want to worry about pressures). The powder and shot were separated by a wad, and the cases sealed with an over-shot card. This yields a much larger shot charge than capsules. My first loads had a problem with old, unreliable primers, and I haven't had a chance to repeat the experiment.

RCBS makes a set of dies for shotshell? It uses .308 cases. NO shot shells won't hurt your gun.

I've made them buy cutting 30-06 brass to the length of a SWC, "necking the case until it headspaced on the rifling with a 40 S&W die and retrimmed.   Then added powder followed by a card board wad, shot and topped with another wad.  I then crimped the wad with a 38 die and glued the wad down with Elmers.

i love them.  i keep them on hand for varmints.  killed a rabbit at 10 yards and a feral animal at about the same.  my kimber will fire,  eject, and chamber these without a hitch.

you might want to check out reed's ammo; a sponser here on g.b.o.   he has some great prices on 45 auto shotshells a while back, and i decided that the next time i bought some shotshells for the 45 it would be from him, as his were much cheaper than the cci's and he offers two different shot sizes..... here's a link.
