Does anyone use their 'cowboy' revolver (w/o Adj. sights) for hunting?

I will use my SBH Hunter in .45 colt on my next boar hunt. My son and I used my Marlin CBC .45 colt lever action the last one we went on in Tennessee.

My OM Vaquero in .45colt goes with me everytime havent used it on a pig yet but that is because I carry it as a back up. I do know that if I had to I could hit with it out to 50yards with warm loads.

I hope more folks say yes cause I intend to with normal velocity loads and heavy slugs, with my 45 long hunter usfa rodeo.. just got it and it is so packable, a new experience for me.. I intend to set up a hog hunt in south Louisiana at a friend's place once some medical and work issues iron out over time.

Hi guys, the oldies (or replicas) are darned fun for hog hunting.
I have used a Ruger vaquero in .44mag to down a big (450+) sow. with a keith type cast 240 gr swc it worked like a charm! I have also used my 1898 vintage winchester 1894 in 30/30. as well as a Rossi puma .44 mag '92 copy with the same cast load.
I am planning on using a .45 colt uberti SAA copy and a 1873 rifle on my next trip down south to do some hog hunting.

Those guns are funt to shoot and for some close range shooting they are plenty effective.
