Question for the 25-06 owners??
« on: February 20, 2007, 06:59:33 PM »
Hey folks,

I got mine(25-06) on order, and was wondering what type of scope should I be looking at for it??

Am gonna be having to go with a shotgun scope for it as well, or will a normal 3.5 " eye relief scope do the trick??

Thanks in advance!!

I've got a Burris Full Field II 3-9x40 with the Ballistic plex reticule on mine, plenty of eye relief for the minimal recoil. ;)

You'll be wanting a good scope on it...for all the shooting you will be doing with it :D :D :D

I've had a bunch of different scopes on mine...The Burris FF2 scopes are good ones...so too are the VX-1 & VX-2's...The non-critical eye relief on them make it much more fun to shoot with them...not just in eye relief..but in not having to be perfect aligned in the pocket to see thru it...You can get cheaper scopes..but IMHO...for my eyes...you won't really get any better for the money...

I don't have the ability to spend the money that some of the others do on glass, so i may get run out of here for this recommendation, but I love my Simmon's whitetail classics.  Either 3.5x10 or 4x12.  They are both extremely clear and can be found for aroun $100 new.  I don't think you can beat them for the money.  I have 5 now and have started using them on everything except my short range stuff.

The Bushnell Banners are hard to beat. They are one heck of a scope for your buck.

You should be able to mount about any scope on it.
If you want it as low as posible like me you will have to do some shopping for rings.
When you are shopping for a scope look at the power adjustment ring.
That usually gets in the way of the hammer.

I have a Busgnell trophy on mine 3x9x40 and so far so good. I got the weaver extension quad lok rings on mine and they work great. Just take the extended ring and point it towardd the butt of the gun. You can set the scope a good ways back and clear the hammer without any mods. WORKS FOR ME. Let us know what you decide. Good luck and let me know how yours shoots I am just now getting around to shooting mine and so far so good.

I have the Bushnell Trophy 4x12x40 on mine. I like the adjustable objective, and it's very clear glass for the money.
