I have a CZ452 Varmint in HM2 it has a SAK moderator and a Hawke Scope. It is deadly accurate when zeroed and stays so for the whole of a hunting session which includes climbing over fences through undergrowth and over walls with the inevitable knocks that entails. After every session it and the moderator are thoroughly cleaned and put back in the gun cabinet (which is fastened to a cold outside wall – I live in the North of England).
It has to be zeroed every time it is taken out. It can be out by 4 to5 cms (vertically and horizontally) at 50 to 60 meters.
If the scope is at fault why does it not drift out of zero when out for a days shooting (30 to 50 cartridges)? On Sunday I put around 20 through and just before leaving the land over which I shoot I nailed a rabbit at 100meters. If the barrel needs bedding why does again drift if several cartridges are put through one after another? Could it be that the temp at which it is stored has an effect or removing the moderator which is stripped and cleaned after each outing.
DAZED AND CONFUSED.
