what was the power and objective size?? also what was the price.  i have never heard of them, but usually price is a good reflection of how good the optics are.  however sometimes good scopes can even be in the 200 and less range.

Konus Optics are more known for their Astronomical optics, I've read a few reports on them at RFC, nothing spectacular that I recollect tho.

We sell them at the shop where I work part time and they are great. All of our customers have had very very good results with them. One thing I like is that the crosshairs can never break because they are engraved on the ocular lens.
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

I had a fixed 4 power on a TC contender and was very dissatisfied with its performance.  The one I had might have just been a bad one but after only 4 shots from a 30-30 the crosshairs (yes the fixed 4 power had crosshairs, I took the whole thing apart to see what happened before I through it away) broke.  Its just my opinion but because of this experience I feel konus is JUNK but what can you expect for $40.  I trashed it and bought a nikon fixed 4x and have been very happy with that scope($100)
This is the day that the Lord hath made!!  I will rejoice and be glad in it!!

I've been looking real seriously at one of the fixed 6 powers.

the scope i am ingterested is is a 6-24x44 mill dot retical, the one i found at gander mountain was the same thing only not a mill dot but a 30/30 duplex reticle, and the price tag was like $170, but ive found them on the net for cheaper.  and as i said before they have a lifetime warranty and the one i examined at gander mountain sure seemed very nice the optic clarity was equal to the nikons i also looked at, the staff at gander also said that and they have never pushed me towards buying anything there so i guess i somewhat trust their judgement... any more comments on this subject would be ok...thanks

In the store with their bright lights can be very deceiving and I would never again base a purchase on it completely. I learned my lesson.
When on a day they aren't very busy, ask the employee to escort you to the front door with both scopes in question -the ones you want to compare side by side-  and look out the front door through both....you may be very surprised with what you find :)

lik2hunt, take a look at the Pentax Gameskeeper fixed 6 power. Have one on a 30-06 and love it. Also have the Pentax fixed 4x on my 45/70 ... it takes a pounding and keeps on ticking. Very clear in the field.
