« on: February 22, 2007, 08:55:19 AM »
Girlfreind just picked up two bricks of fed large pistol mag match primers for me. It came to $63!!! seems they sell by the individual pack no matter how many you buy. I just bought 3 cases of fed primers at the local hardware store for 100 bucks a case. Do you think there making a little bit of profit at gander mountain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Federal "March" primers are not available at this time.  Any remaining stock on retailers shelves are going at a premium.  Standard Federal primers are still selling at normal prices.

thats funny as the reason i had her pick the match primers up is they dont have any standard mag primers. As a matter of fact all they had on the shelf in fed pistol primers were match primers.

stimpylu, be glad you only paid $16. I sell primers, when I can pick them up at the distributors, 2 weeks ago, I PAID $18. I believe we're in a transition period. Price's have been pretty stable for quite a few years, and now the firearms industry is catching up with the rest of the world. I talked with a customer, at the LGS, that checked the price of shot I believe at either Gander Mtn., or the Cabela's store just over the like in Mi., he said it was $28 a bag. I can hear the trap shooters screaming now. $10,000 Perazzi's, but not enough money to shoot them. We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!! Remember-(12/7/41)-(9/11/01) gypsyman

I e-mailed these guys  http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/  and asked when the "Match" primers would be available.  They replied that they are not available at this time and when they get some we get some.

I'd grown accustomed to paying about $2 for 100 primers.  Was at Bass Pro last weekend and noticed their primers were $3 per hundred.  That's a 50% increase.  I imagine my usual supplier has followed suit.

the local gander mountain wanted $24 a pound for H4831. I went to sportsmens warehouse and H4831 was $18 a pound. When I was at gander, someone was doing a price check on 8lb kegs. After hearing the high price the customer said no thanks. The clerk brought up an excuse about how corporate was not concerned about the amount of reloading supplies sales.I'll take my business elsewhere

HMMM, I just bought a $279.95 gun, 25# bag of Winchester chilled #9 shot and a TruGlo red dot at Gander Mountain for a total of less than $300 counting taxes.  The gun was discounted $50, the shot was discounted $8 and the red dot was discounted $15.  Maybe y'all just need to figure out how to talk to 'em when you're shopping.  ;)
