Speer Manual Load Data ??
« on: February 23, 2007, 10:54:16 AM »
I have a 30/30 barrel coming for my Handi rifle . i would like to try some of the Speer 180 Spitzers but can only find data for the 170 and 190 grain bullets .

If someone has a Speer manaul , would you look and see if they even list a load for the 180s , i use them in 308 and 30-06 but want to see if they will shoot in a 30 x 2 .

Thanks up front

I just checked 2 Speer Manuals, an Lyman and at last a Hornaday Manual.  None of them listed a 30-30, 180 grain load.

You could use the starter load for the 190 gr as your starter load for a 180 gr. That is what I generally do.

I am a member of load data, so I went online to see if they had a load. For a Sierra 180gr and H4895 30gr gives a velocity of 1,759 with the comment "very nice load". Hope that helps.
