Anybody own a KM77RSBZ?
« on: February 23, 2007, 04:24:21 PM »
Just curious if you guys might have some opinions on this rifle. I ran across one in .243 and it spoke to me. It told me to bring it home with me. Funny how they do that some times.

This is a 77 All-Weather Model. It has the open sights. I kinda fell for the sights I guess. I looked at the same gun without them and it did nothing for me. Maybe it was because they haven't been made that way for a couple of years and the sights stood out like a big hood ornament.

The only down side about the gun is that I am a sucker for nice wood. I have been scoping out the Accurate Inovations rifle stock web site and getting some ideas. Anyway, do any of you have experience with one of these fine lookers?

This is the stainless, "canoe paddle" synthetic stock model?  I own two in .30-06 that came with factory installed iron sights and a .308 I had Ruger service put sights on. I like these rifles a lot. Also own one in .223 (it has no iron sights). I used to have another .308 (no iron sights) but sold it, as the buyer made an offer I could not refuse. The stock looks odd but is incredibly durable. Ruger now offers no sights on any Model 77 rifles except the large caliber ones and the RSI.  Also, the Ruger factory service will not install their sights any more.

Yeah Targshooter it is. I like the sights too. For some reason they look better with the sights to me. The one I was looking at did not have the hollowed out, plastic stock. I did a s/n check on Ruger's website and found that the gun was made in 2001. I hope that I can get it to shoot.

Rugerfan01,

How do you like that stock? I have been on AI's web site looking at the stocks that they make and thinking that I might need one. Does it do like they say, drop in fit and improved accuracy?

It was a drop in fit!
The gun shot well before i stocked it with the AI so  I dont know if it actually improved the accuracy.
It is well made and feels very nice. It is free floated also.
The guy over there name is Ben Dueryter and is an alfull nice fellow. It is the Laminat version call the ghost.
It will add a little weight to you rifle also, I dont know exactly how much but its bareable.
IMHO its worth the money.
good luck with you decisions
