405 Win bore/groove dim
« on: February 24, 2007, 05:44:21 AM »
I measured/slugged the bore on my 1895 Winchester chambered in 405 Winchester and am coming up with .413" :(

Anyone else having the same trouble...  ??? and where in the world is a reliable source for .413 or .414 bullets.

Thanks in advanced

Well I think the only choice would be a custom mould or get set up for swagging.
Or use the .416 diameter bullet and get a bullet reducing die made by corbin for the loading press, It would maybe take two dies for .003 for a jacket I dont know for sure.
I dont think I would try using a lube sizer for a jacketed bullet unless it's a push through like a Star. or Maybe one of the Lee dies but it might be tough to get them to make an exact diameter you want. I never have yet ::)
That is what drove to swagging when I could not buy the proper diameter and weight commercial bullets I wanted to use.
