custom grips

I am srnding my srh in to magnaport for an action job and a magnabrake. I would like to put some custom grips on it when it comes back. Anyone have any pictures or links or ideas?

Not sure about true custom---but replacement grips can be had from Hogue----Lett---Ajax---Eagle(think thats the name??) etc..................

  Lett is out of business.  If you want really nice ones, CaryC is the way to go.  Top class stuff!

Yeah I checked out ajax, eagle and lett. Some nice grips, then I saw the clc site. WOW! I sent him off an e-mail, all he has on the site is single action grips, don't know if he makes them for double actions.

Just head from Cary, no double action grips. >:( I think I am going to try making a set myself. I've been a cabinetmaker for 23 years and am pretty proficient with tools. Who knows, maybe I'll find a new calling.

  Sorry I knew Cary didn't make DA grips.  Had a brain fade I guess.   Anyways, what you've got yourself looks darn nice!  Maybe that's your niche where cary has the SA niche.  He started small just selling his wares on ebay for $50 or so.  Now look at him!

Yeah, so far so good. Still got a lot of sanding to do. It took me so long to make this set I don't think I could make any money at it. I did make router jigs as I went though just in case. I found out the hard way leopard wood doesn't take to routing very well, did most of the shaping on a bandsaw and belt sander, ground the rest with a sanding drum on a dremel.Maybe after I try a couple more and work on streamlining the process I can try selling them. The first couple are just for me though.

Gaboon Ebony Gunfighter grips with German Sterling Sliver Ruger Medallions from Argentina:

and my newest addition... Slim Colt Style Grips: Book matched set of Feather Figured Walnut with high gloss tru oil finish with flat bottoms with a 1/8" radius.






My Ebony Gaboon Gunfighter grips were cracked after a Friend dropped my Ruger Vaquero on the ground whilst spinning it,  :o  >:( , I was lucky due to the fact that the Gaboons took the impact and revlover is fine, thank goodness.

No one spins my guns but me anymore, NO-ONE!   ;D

Thanks! I've extra large hands so I'm not sure if these new ones will be a good fit or not but they are only a little thinner, (5/32 total), than the Gaboons.

Don't know till ya try, and I like trying new things cause ya never know I may shoot the best with these.

I'll probably order one more set, (wide grip), because I know I like how those feel.

I told him not to worry about it, sh*t happens. He has helped me out before when I was down and out and it was an accident, so....

I was disappointed though.   :(

Well stupid me, I was sanding the finish back off as I was putting it on. Now I'm using 000 steel wool and can see the grain filling in more with each application. I was using too coarse of steel wool. A couple more times and it should be done. I'll post some pics when I am finished.

Bill Lett has retired, and the building is empty & locked. All pending orders have been cancelled, and any charges reversed.
Most likely the website is/was contracted to run by a third party, and so hasn't been taken down yet.

It is too bad that Lett went out of business. I picked these up a few years ago from them for $50. I think they were a bargain



I bought this early pair from CaryC (gun on the left) when they were still fairly cheap. They are a bit thicker than I prefer but are very well made and fitted to the grip frame by the maker of the gun.

Those are some nice looking grips.

I just received my new grips from Cary C a few weeks ago.

I love the feel, looks and how the revolver handles too.

When I twirl it now, it's more balanced.

I can't wait to go shooting to see how the grips function.
