Don't feel alone on that one. I bought a FORD probe a few years ago and found out it was made by mazda.

Even cars made overseas and sold in america generate income for some americans. Dealers, finance companies, service depts to name a few. I like american cars but you never know in todays economy where the parts come from.

I really am happyest in a ford pick-up though. Byron

This also adds fuel to a thought I have had for many years as it pertains to gun control. A very large percentage of the firearms being sold in this country today are of foreign manufacture. If the Government shut down all our domestic manufaturers today, prohibited imports and took away our guns. It would reduce the problems with guns getting in the hands of criminals... for a very short time. Since our gov cannot control how outside manufactures distribute their guns they are going to end up in the hands of gun runners who will feed a hungry marked here in the US. Illegal gun smuggling would be second only to drug smuggling in this country. Basically all the bad guys will still get guns just as easily as they did before.

I think we tried that with alcohol a few years back. It made Joe Kennedy rich. I've got to wonder whether we would have had to have put up with the likes of Ted Kennedy if Prohibition hadn't made that family a fortune.

The price of oil is determined like any other commodity, by demand. If everyone quit driving today it wouldn't be but a few days until prices start to drop. High demand equals high prices. The oil companies will take every dime the oil traders offer them.

I think your misunderstanding this? Oil purchased from the middle east is being used as a terrorists tool. And American big business is profiteering from this much like the black market after WWII.

My Glock was assembled in Smyrna, Georgia about 10 miles from my old House.
It was assembled by AMERICAN workers in AMERICA. It may be a foreign owned company, but
they are giving AMERICANS jobs ! Unlike AMERICAN owned companies who sent their jobs to other countries instead of paying AMERICANS !!! I have no problem doing business with them..

That's nice, so America still has some minimum wage jobs? Where do you suppose the engineering and manufacturing is done? Personally, I think anybody who owns a gun (handgun, rifle, shotgun, BB gun) should belong to the NRA. Not just 6,000,000 out of 35,000,000+? Global economy is for those who are already rich enough.

You can go to boycottcitgo.com I think or do a google search for boycott citgo and they have a list of oil companies and where their crude oil comes from and a list of gas stations that use it.
The Glock story was corrected and doesn't really matter anyway. I like Glock handguns because they do a good job for what they were designed for. I buy some guns for fun and some for business and for business i want what works....period and Glock works well.
I don't buy american for the sake of buying american. If people want others to buy american, americans better make good products.
I'll certianly will pay alittle more for a well made product but not pay more just because it's made here.
