Ruger No.1 Varminter trigger adjustment ?

I have a Ruger no.1 varminter 22-250 with a very heavy trigger.I can't find my owner's manual for trigger info and was wondering if I can adjust it to a lighter trigger pull weight myself.I see two screws on the trigger and wonder if that has something to do with adjustment.

Assuming the rifle is new?
I have read articles that explain what to do to get a 4 to 5 pound trigger.
Your next option is replacing the trigger.
Moyers makes a copy of the old Ruger No.1 trigger that could be adjusted.
Canjar and Kepplinger make set triggers that can be adjusted to less than a pound when set

    The manual is available at Ruger's website in a pdf format for ownloading.    Now if it's a older one, there's three adjustemnts that can be made.  Later ones are not as adjustable.  I believe it's EA Brown that has the #1 triggers at good prices.

  That one will not have the 3-way adjustments.  Get the manual downloaded (call Ruger for a free copy) and do what you can with the factory one.  Some are better than others.   I've got three 31's currently and none have a bad trigger. The 1V is the older one so I've got it adjusted quite nice.   Hope my next one is in the same realm trigger and accuracy wise as these three are.
   Coffee...well turns out after drinking bit too much of it for years and years, I've got an actual addiction to caffine.  Not having at least one cup in the AM will give me near migraines in the afternoon so a cup first thing is in order.

Ok men,here's the deal.We have a stupid rain and ice problem here in northeast Ohio and because of it,I am on my second pot of coffee ( cowboy coffee ), so forgive me if I get to many letters in my words.
I pulled the rifle out of the safe and yep,it only has two tiny allen head screws in the trigger.I downloaded the manual from the Ruger site but it only shows that familar picture with the circle and a line through it by the picture of the trigger.We all know what that means,( cover your butt ),so Ruger isn't going to tell me anything,least wise,I couldn't find anything yet.
This Ruger no.1,22-250,is actually my better half's rifle and it has been shooting 3/4 inch groups with various hand loads that I have worked up for my Remington heavy bbl.varminter.Truth be known,I am quite impressed with it's ability to out shoot my Remington that I have about a ton more money in.I think by reduceing the weight of pull,it should do even better cause I really have to put forth a lot of effort,not to punch the trigger.Now if I can only out shoot her.

  If you got this 6 years ago, you've got the type 3 trigger and it's really not much you can do to it.  The adjustable ones were the three screw ones (the 3rd screw was internal).

Thanks BlkHawk73,That was good reading.I'll run the trigger job by a gunsmith that did a good job on my Ruger MK II,338 mag.He installed an after market trigger in it that is pretty good.No complaints there.
