21.5gr of imr 4198 with 70gr sierra blitzking was the winning combination. 4shots 5/8" with the 5th shot opening up to 1"  this was a fireforming load that shows great potential in my barrel. the same charge with 70gr nosler bt's and 70gr speer tnt's didn't work out. h335 seems to be the prefered powder for my 80gr bullet loads.

Nice job, KYODE have you tried any V-MAX's in that 6tcu? Or in your 6BR?

pj, i just now seen your question   sorry, i missed it earlier
i havn't shot any v-max's at all. don't really shoot many hornady bullets, except in my 44mag redhawk. i'm sure they would be great, and i hear the v-max's are really explosive on varmints. the 70gr sierra blitzking should be very explosive also, and it shoots super in the 6tcu. i need to get started back to working with the 6br barrel too. too many barrels, too little time 8)  i love it! :D

Kyode, the load I use in my 6mm tcu is the 70 gr Nosler BT and about 25.2 gr of IMR 4198 . With each new lot of powder I adjust the charge a few tenths, untill the velocity averages 2850 fps. The Rem. 7 1/2 primer is the most accurate primer. I use Remington cases because they will take a higher charge then other cases, before there is sticky extraction. They also last longer. With a rifle scope on this barrel I've shot groups under a 1/2" at 100 yds. I've tried the 65 gr V-Max. They would produce groups a little under a inch, at 100 yds., but the accuracy deteriorated badly beyond 250 yds. With the 70 gr. Nosler BT, I've gotten good accuracy out to 700 yds. With near the same charge, I've got good accuracy with the 70 gr Speer TNT, and the Hornady 70 gr SX. I used to use the 80 gr Speer, but when Speer changed them to Hot Core they wouldn't expand on ground hogs, even at 100 yds. The 70 gr. Nosler BT is the best bullet I've found. Also put a level on you scope. Your hits on varmints will go way up. I even have levels on my deer rifles if I'm going to shoot over 200 yds., with that rifle.  8)
