What is the most durable/longest lasting action, are 50 yard shots possible, and how about CO2 for hunting?  Robert

well i don't know. i have a pump-up .177 and .22 which both can kill starlings at 50 yards and hit targets and both are from 1975 and still shoot. what do you want to hunt? birds, rats, bever, nutra, rabbits and are you looking for power or long range? the best i can think of for 150 or less are  850 Carbine by Gamo,  BENJAMIN 397,  CROSMAN 1077,  CROSMAN 2100B
CROSMAN 2250B , PHANTOM 1000 by Crosman ,QUEST 1000X, daisy 1000 and in .22cal daisy 22 SG, and  BENJAMIN 392 . as far as handguns most are not good for hunting but there is a few the  CROSMAN 1377C  and the  BENJAMIN HB22  these are the only to that can be scoped and how the power to hunt with.

If you are used to shooting regular firearms you will probably find pumpers (such as Bejamin 392 or 397 or the Daisy 22SG) or CO2 (Crosman 2250 or 2260 or Industry brand QB78) more to your liking. They have little recoil and are accurate. Spring piston guns like the Crosman Quest/Phantom/G1 Xtreme or Gamo Shadow are all high power and good for hunting, but they also have a weird backward recoil that takes some getting used to. Some folks who are good shots with a firearm have a lot a trouble adapting to springers because of this. But don't let that stop you from trying one. Just be warned if you can't get it to group well the first time you try it.

Get yourself a Sheridan blue streak.. I have one that I have had for close to three decades
and it will still punch nice 20 caliber holes in Tree rats  Rabbits and starlings. Bought a brand new one too a little while back. They shoot with about the same power it seems. I still have an old Crossman
model 700 PellMaster in .22 caliber that will Knock a squirrel off a limb 40 or 50 feet up too.
That rifle has to be 40 years old. Taken proper care of, they will last !
